Design Your Unique Gabion Fencing

At Fenceonline, you have the opportunity to customize your own gabion to your taste. With our easy to use configurator, you have control over the final result, ensuring you get a gabion that perfectly suits your needs. We ensure that the right materials are collected, so everything is ready for assembly. The configurator gathers all parts, except for the stones. You can choose from three different types of stones on the stone selection page.

Gabion Colour

In the configurator, you can choose from the following colours:

  • Galvanised
  • Anthracite RAL 7016
  • Black RAL 9005
  • Fir green ( Dark) RAL 6009
  • Moss green ( Light ) RAL 6005

The difference between a colour coating and thermal galvanisation is that thermal galvanisation is much more scratch resistant, while a colour coating is often more aesthetically pleasing for your garden.

NOTE: The posts for the gabion fences are NOT coated and are ONLY available in the galvanised colour. Even if coated, coloured twin wire mesh panels are chosen, the posts will be in the galvanised colour.

Gabion Height

In the configurator, you can choose from the following heights: 80 cm, 100 cm, 120 cm, 140 cm, and 180 cm. The most commonly chosen height for front gardens is 100 cm. For back gardens, many option for 180 cm, as this results in more privacy.

Type of Post

For the gabion fences, you can choose between two types of posts: the "post for gabion" or the "profile for gabion". The most popular post is the "profile." This post is simple and lightweight but still very sturdy due to its shape. If you prefer a more luxurious appearance and even more strength, the "gabions list" is the best option for you.

Wire Thickness

In the configurator, you can choose between two twin wire thickness : Ø 6/5/6 mm or Ø 8/6/8 mm. The most popular wire thickness is 6/5/6 mm, which provides optimal stability and long durability. The 8/6/8 mm thickness is more commonly chosen by the industrial and commercial sectors as it offers more strength for the gabion fence.

Stone Selection for Your Gabion

Once you’ve assembled your gabion fence, you can choose the stones. The stones provide added privacy and give your garden a luxurious yet natural appearance. At Fenceonline, you can select from three different types of stones:

  • Ardenner Broken Stone: The natural tones create a calm, modern atmosphere, adding a touch of authenticity to your garden. These stones fit into almost any garden.
  • Rouge Belge Broken Stone: This stone gives a warm and inviting atmosphere. The red hues create a welcoming space, perfect for gardens where you want to relax.
  • Yorkshire Broken Stone: Or choose the contemporary elegance of the Yorkshire broken stone. The sharp lines and modern look make it the perfect choice for anyone seeking a modern garden vibe.

How Much Stone Do I Need?

To fill your gabion fences, you'll need large stones. However, it’s difficult to determine the exact amount since the stones can be placed in various ways within the gabion fences. In the table below, you can find an estimate of how many stones you’ll need. To calculate how much stone you need, look up the amount of stone (in kg) based on the height of your gabion fencing. Then, multiply this amount by the number of gabion fences you need. Once you know how much stone you need, you can choose one of the three stone types.

NOTE: This calculation is based on a gabion fencing length of 2.5 meters. If your gabion is shorter, you’ll need to adjust the calculation. The length of your gabion fence can be found in the configurator.
