Douglas wood is beautiful wood and of course you want to keep it that way. Douglas wood tends to gray over time. This has its charm but due to weathering it often happens unevenly: in one place more compared to the other. That can be a shame for your fence, canopy or gazebo. After a stain treatment your wood will last longer, until the next maintenance is needed.

A protective layer of Douglas stain

Embadecor W Douglas stain is a water-based wood preservative that is officially permitted according to the applicable environmental regulations (approval number 13846 N). It forms a decorative protection against all kinds of external influences. The Douglas stain protects, among other things, against blue stain, wood rot, weather influences such as sun and rain and it counteracts aging. You also retain the original structure of the wood, despite the treatment.

The properties of Douglas stain

Douglas stain contains specific pigments that are resistant to the influences of light, weather and resins. A heavy rain shower or a long period of sunshine will therefore not affect the color of your Douglas wood. Other components of the stain also ensure that mold and wood rot have no chance.

Using Douglas stain

With a pot of 2.5 liters Embadecor W Douglas stain you can stain about 14 square meters of wood. The application of Douglas stain can be done with a roller if it concerns large areas. For smaller pieces, it is better to use a brush. For best results, apply a first coat of stain and let it soak in for 24 hours. Then lightly sand the wood and apply the second coat.
